This is an essential diagnostic tool, which allows visualisation of internal organs and disease processes within the body cavities. We can also assess soft tissue structures almost anywhere else in the body. We operate two ultrasound units within the practice and scan pets of all sizes, from guinea pigs to horses.

Should we identify disease within a body cavity or organ we will often use ultrasound to perform guided fine needle or true-cut biopsies which are paramount in obtaining a definitive diagnosis. In many cases this can be done in conscious or lightly sedated animals without the need for general anaesthesia and more invasive surgery.

In addition to examining sick animals, we also examine healthy animals to confirm, and monitor pregnancy or assess infertility problem.
