Laparoscopic " Keyhole" Surgery Update May 2018
Since bringing Laparoscopy to the practice earlier this year we are continuing to see its popularity grow as an alternative to routine surgical bitch spaying. In addiiton we have also started using it as our preferred option for obtaining organ biopsies, in particular, liver, and the enhanced information we can obtain using this technique has allowed us to more specifically and safely manage our liver cases. For more information please look under the "Our Services" page of our website.
Canine Vaccine Amnesty ( March/April ) 2018 Success
The Canine Vaccine Amnesty 2018 has now finished. We are pleased to annoounce that the amnesty was very successful this year and we managed to re-start 54 dogs on their vaccinations. In addition to protecting them against Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Distemper and Leptospirosis we also picked up other disease conditions requiring attention during the pre vaccination health checks. Thanks to all owners who brought their dogs in this year.
Ultrasound Machine Upgraded (January 2018)
We were sad to see the departure of our old ( 4 years ! ) Logic e Ultrasound Machine. This despair however was only short lived when we got our hands on the new "R7" version. We thought our original model was good but the images we are getting from the new machine are fantastic. This versatile imaging modality allows us to rapidly assess organs within the chest and abdomen of our patients without subjecting them to more invasive procedures.
Laparoscopic "Keyhole" Surgery (February 2018)
We are very excited to announce the arrival of our new state of the art Laparoscopy unit at Wetherby. This equipment will allow us to perform "keyhole" bitch spays along with other minimally invasive procedures such as exploratory intra abdominal imaging and organ biopsy. Please contact the practice for further information or alternatively click on Laparoscopy in the "Our Services" section of our website.

Cat Specific Room
Here at Parkhill we know that cats do not like leaving their own territory, but also know how important it is to have regular health checks. To help make the visit less stressful we have a cat specific room where no dogs are ever allowed. We also have a Feliway diffuser permanently plugged in to help the kittys chill.
