Parkhill Vets Ltd.
Terms And Conditions
Thank you for entrusting your pet's care to Parkhill Vets Ltd. We are committed to providing the highest standard of care for all our patients and clients. This document details our Terms & Conditions and we ask that you familiarise yourself with them. Should you require any clarification of any aspects of our terms please feel free to contact us and ask.
All professional fees, drugs, diets and consumables are subject to VAT at the current rate. The fees we charge depend upon the time spent on a case in addition to any drugs, diets or consumables used. Itemised invoices will be presented to you for all treatments or goods we provide.
We are happy to provide a written estimate upon request to give an indication of likely costs for investigations and treatments undertaken on your pet. Please bear in mind that any estimate given can only be approximate and additional costs which cannot be predicted at the outset may occur as treatment progresses. Often a pet's illness will not follow a conventional course, in particular emergency or critical cases, and this may increase or decrease the final invoice amount in comparison with the original estimate. If costs are exceeding the original estimate we will attempt to keep you verbally informed as treatment progresses.
METHODS OF PAYMENT
We accept cash, credit/debit cards or cheques with a valid cheque guarantee card up to the value of the card.
Payment in full will be expected at the time of consultation, upon the discharge of your pet or on collection of drugs or diets. In the event that an account is not settled we will send a written reminder requesting payment in full. Any additional reminders may incur an administrative charge. After due notice any unpaid accounts will be referred to our debt recovery agency and further charges will be incurred. Should this occur we will write to notify you of our withdrawal of services.
INABILITY TO PAY
If for any reason you are unable to settle your account in full we request that you ask to speak to a business director as soon as possible and before treatment takes place. We do not offer credit but may be able to arrange a loan through a licensed credit agency. All loan requests are subject to financial checks and must be agreed in writing before any treatment can take place. Emergency treatment to alleviate pain and suffering will always be given irrespective of ability to pay.
PET HEALTH INSURANCE
Parkhill Vets Ltd. supports the principle of insuring your pet against unexpected costs when accidents or illness occur. It is your responsibility to set the level of cover you want as well as knowing the terms and conditions of your policy in particular any exclusions, excesses or deductions that apply. In the majority of cases we ask clients to settle their account in full and reclaim fees paid to the practice form your insurance company. These are known as indirect claims and we make no charge for processing these claims. Where a client is unable to settle their account in full we may be able to do a direct claim with the insurance company. We charge an administration fee of £12.50 plus VAT for this service.
