The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS - our governing body) Practice Standards Scheme is a voluntary initiative to accredit veterinary practices in the UK. Through setting standards and carrying out regular assessments, the PSS aims to promote and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care.
The RCVS says it ‘offers peace of mind to clients of accredited practices and a more informed choice to the animal-owning public’. Just over half of the UK’s practice premises are accredited under the scheme.
RCVS assessors visit us every four years to ensure that our facilities meet the standards associated with our category of accreditation. Being an Accredited Practice, you can be assured that our veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses and Parkhill facilities have been rigorously assessed to meet stringent standards.

Our Accreditation and what next
We have been serving the pets of Wetherby for over 100 years. We are immensely proud of our team and the quality, dedicated care they deliver. We have been an accredited practice since the scheme began and are proud to continue to be a listed practice.
The PSS has recently introduced Awards in certain areas to allow practices to demonstrate where they excel. Watch this space as we work towards achieving some of these very prestigious additional awards.
